hey, thanks for checking this one out.

appreciate the review.
the bass was really fun to track...
a fairly aggressive bass tone is always fun to rock on.

thanks for listening..
that opening bit of riffing, has definitely got that texas-style blues riffage vibe happening....
that was a bit intentional, as it immediately changes to another style, then another style, it just keeps morphing......

the idea, is the song title: "the road to tabriz"
basically, you are a westerner, heading to the far east...
your journey starts on your home ground, but then you are somewhere new and strange, and you begin your final trip towards tabriz, then when you get there, you are overwhelmed and humbled.
somptin' like that.

I too got a bit of a SRV feel from this number but wow the style changes are quite something.  The guitar playing is outstanding and the piece itself demonstrates some real creativity.
Excellent stuff!!

thanks freddy...

the arrangement came from a sort of 'free-form' jam....

i guess the first part of the song was just a jam riff based on a typical pseudo-shuffle feel superimposed on a straight groove....

but the center section (the part with the multiple unison and harmony lines) was all worked out for that semi-prog feeling.
in fact, it took me a while to get the timing down of that 'walk-down' out of the fast section to the slow part.
i had to count it.
LOL

if this is right:

(4) measures of 3/4 with (1) at 4/4

Bat, this is brilliant stuff, as usual.  Your mixes lately seem to have benefited from the ARC software.  I'm tempted to spring for one of these.  Great job!

Bat,
Really hot guitar number. Great pace with great licks. I like the way you have contrasting sections, each with a different rhythmic feel.
A real burner, if you ask me.

Cheers,

Smokin'!!!  Somebody get the fire extinguisher!!!  Somebody said Steve Morse, I'll go with that.  I like the little written transitional parts, they sound Zappaesque.  Two listens are mandatory!!
