Sorry I haven't been around for a while.  This is a new song I just finished called "Maybe Tomorrow".  I like to think of it as jacked-up country music, like Alternative Country or maybe Americana?  It's the first song I ever wrote that has a key change in it which I'm very proud of.  I played everything except the drums which is Session Drummer and the lead guitar which is my friend Ron who really kicked the song up with his guitar solo.

I hope you enjoy it.

Hey, I was hoping I could get a listen!  Let me know what you think.  Good or bad.  It's the only way I'll get better.

Don, you've written a song that really takes me back to the days of CCR.  It has a feel-good, country rock sound that I haven't heard in a while.  It's clever and catchy with a good vocal and nice performances all around.  It also takes me back to the days when mixes were made to be played through a mono, AM radio speaker because it has all kinds of top end (like some of my Everly Brothers recordings).  It's as if a high pass filter was a little too high in the mix or mastering stage, making me wish for a little warmth.  I get those complaints, too.  Otherwise, this is a gem waiting for a few tweaks in the EQ department.  This song has much potential.

Very "Dave Edmonds" (which is a good thing.)

ralph, enjoyed the listen. A little harmony and guitar fills around the voice would have added to the song (IMO).

Hey ralph, welcome back.

Yeah, country rock-ish, and a fun tune, I liked it.  The modulation toward the end is a nice touch.  The panning of the mix was spot on.

Thank you guys for the listens and comments!  Yes Chas, harmonies would sound nice.  I am so bad at doing harmonies.  I can't wrap my head around it.  I can do it on some songs but on other songs it's really hard for me.  I usually end up throwing the headphones in the air in disgust.  Lol.

Scott, you know what's funny.  That modulation at the end was purely for convenience sake.  But it worked!  When I put in the key change I had to wipe the end of the song and do it over in the higher key.  Then when my friend Ron played his guitar solo I had him record the little riffs in the new key.  He used his amp settings which had the chorus on it.  Instead of re-recording the riffs I just used the ones Ron recorded.  It actually worked pretty good I think. Lol. I am a lazy guy sometimes.

Thanks again guys!

it may sound country-esque to you, I get some Oasis feeling from this. Very nice song, catchy and meldodic.

I like a song with a message, great words.
I did also enjoy the key change, very hard thing to make work but I think it fitted just right.
