No, I'm trying to avoid reinstalling if possible as everything is there and installed fine and, a least in Kontakt and Absynths case is running fine in standalone mode...Replika only runs as a plugin.  I'll try a V-Scan...but I really don't think that's the problem as I have blocker software and such.  I'm pretty sure I just need the dll files and I'll be back to square one.  Hope NI gets back with me soon but that will be tomorrow earliest.

Sounds like you may have had a network interruption during the update. If that's the case, then it's an indication of poor design on NI's part. Installer Design 101: you rename the old file rather than deleting it, and you don't delete the old file until the new one is in place and its checksum has been validated. 
 
My dll, btw, is in Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Kontakt. I don't remember if Service Center put it there or if it was my own customization.

are you able to search you pc for the dll files for those synths ? it sounds like those that disappeared were relocated to like, another dimension...but perhaps are just buried in some odd user folder or something-

Again...after doing a search on my box there is NO Kontakt5 dll of any sort. There is no Absynth5 dll of any sort. And there is no Replika dll of any sort...although I only have the free version of that. NI has sent me a link to a VST tool program...who knows what it will do...that I will try tomorrow. I'm still positive that all I really need is the latest Kontakt and Absynth dlls to be back in business. But I'll probably end up having to reinstall them both and simply forget about Replika. I'm also pretty sure Larry has the right answer on this one. Never let the service center install your updates...install them yourself so you will know where they are going.

I recently did a big update with Komplete Ultimate 10. Then there were some Service Centre updates too. Several of my plugins were uninstalled. As it turned out the add VST version was not checked when I ran the installers individually in verbose mode. So I had to run the installers again this time making sure to check that VSTs were selected on each installer.
