I had that happen once. I always seem to have trouble with NI updates.  The installs always fail and I have to run Windows Installer Cleanup.  This happens on 3 systems.

What I do to remedy a problem like his is download the ISOs from NI, extract the installers, keep them on a separate drive, install and let Service Center update.

I would suggest run the installers so all are linked properly in the registry instead of placing the dlls in the folder.

Sheesh, nobody should have to jump through those hoops to install any software. Knock on wood - metaphorically, as there's very little wood in here - but I've never had any major issues with Service Center. Yet.

I learned long ago that with these control-freak vendors that you should always accept defaults for everything. Even that's not a guaranteed defense when they subsequently change their mind about where stuff should go. Why can't everybody be like FabFilter and Meldaproduction? A DLL and a license file, drop 'em anywhere that makes sense and you're done.

I seem to be unique in having that problem with NI.

I have to chime in my agreement with that. I reckon just about everything can and will be cracked- the difference is the integrity of the user who is and who isnt willing to be honest and fairly compensate others for their work. Further, our costs are increased to help pay for more elaborate and cumbersome protection schemes

Just curious - who's this CCLarry guy?

Never seen or heard of him.

Is he on the forums here somewhere?

Has he posted anything lately?........

Would he perchance know where I might be able to find some VSTs - especially if someone might have a sale once in a while?...................
