I don't even know what you're talking about, but I never ever watch any award shows to begin with anyway.

I've never understood the appeal of award shows and have no idea why people watch them. Years ago I shared an apartment with a woman who would make a huge deal of every one of them - all her friends would come over with booze and they would be whooping and cheering through the whole thing. I'd have to go out.
 
I have an actress friend who won a Tony a few years ago and that was pretty cool (I got to hold it and do the whole Kramer routine) so I can understand if you're in the business, but as for everyone else - how on earth does the opinion of some panel affect your enjoyment of movies or anything else? If you like it you like it. 

I liked what Jodie Foster said many many years ago, when asked about award shows.
 
Although I can't remember word for word, it was basically, "Since the awards are not based on anything accurate, relevant, meaningful or important, and are instead mostly just popularity votes and contests, I simply have no interest in them".
 
And she would be one, who many would agree, would be most deserving of them - many times over.
 
So I respected her for saying so and agreed with her about it from that day on.
 
Clearly, she's right. Much of the time, it can only be based solely on popularity in many cases, when you see who won on the news the next day - whether you want to or not.

Tying this thread and the odd band name one together, I've met the guys in the skate punk band Jodie Foster's Army.
