Hi all.
I have just put in a new hard drive and I would like to move my cakewalk projects to the new drive. Does anyone know what I would have to do in order to get the files working on the other drive?
What would I have to change?

As long as your samples remain in their original locations, most cwp files will be OK on another drive, because most internal references are either to the system registry or they are relative to the folder the cwp resides in.

The biggest headache you'll encounter is the Recent Projects list, which is stored in the registry and will still contain the original pathnames. Here's the easy way to avoid that: load each of your last 12 projects and use File->Save As to copy them into the new location.

Alternatively, you can edit the registry and change the pathnames there. It's quicker if you're not intimidated by editing the registry. Look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk\{Edition}\Recent File List. {Edition} depends on the SONAR edition, e.g. if you're running Platinum it'll be "Platinum".

If all your projects are in a Project folder containing the CWP and the Audio folder then you need not worry.
I move project folders around all the time. Last spring I added a new SSD drive to use as my Sonar working drive. All I did was copy my folders over and carried on working. I just set my Pathways in preferences to the new location.
I left the old folders on the original 7200 RPM drive as a back up. To avoid any possible confusion I renamed the old folders with the date.

Example:
Old folder = CWP- Originals June 2017.
New = CWP-Originals

Setting the pathways is the ticket as Sonar will only open from there unless you browse back to the old drive.
