Anyone checked out Harmor (not Harmless) by Image Line?

It seems to do what the old Cameleon 5000 by Camel Audio tried to do, except that this time they may have got it right.

The resynthesis abilities as shown for the Veela Vocal library seems pretty impressive.

Here's an example of how to get a vocal into Harmor... I've thought of this a few times but never picked it up... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFMgdzh0YMA

They first prepare a vocal using "newtone", another IL plug but melodyne, autotune should work just as well...

I've sworn off acquiring anything new... had in mind to do this with Falcon but haven't had the time yet... good tips on how to do... using melodyne or whatever...to straightline the vocal so it's easier to modulate accurately...

Took the same vow, trying to be good.
But the gas demon keeps whispering "it's 30% off till Jan 14th..."

I have buckets loads of stuff I couldn't resist because of the 30/40/50/60+ percent off till....  it's definitely an addiction and for me actually gets in the way of composing...  Figure this year I'll only buy something after unloading a lot of amazing/unused stuff to pay the bill...

I am surprised there seems to be no update to Harmor for many years...
Am hoping the newest kids on the block...Falcon/Alchemy2 can do it better...
Falcon automaps & is bristling with powerful stackable features, amazing effects like sparkverb
Appreciate the post as it lead me to discover the preparation done to actually record playable vocals!

Thanks for posting that info! Wasn't aware of 'how-to' either.

Falcon looked really nice but I just couldn't pony up the $200+ for yet another synth/rompler when I have others being underutilized.

I'm sure that Falcon or Omnisphere 2.x could handle the sample mapping the question is, as you said, can they do it better.  For example Harmor has built a formant feature.

I wrote a review of Harmor a while back which you can read here:

The Harmor documentation is hopeless, but there's a very good tutorial series on youtube if you can find it.  I just spent a few minutes looking for a URL and had no luck, but I watched the whole series some time ago and got a lot out of it.

Very underrated.  Once you buy it you will not have to pay for every new version.  ProMacVideo has a great tutorial on how to use it.

Harmor is a great synth that is really unique. The only problem is its real power is hidden and a bit hard to understand. That said it makes sounds that are difficult or impossible to make with other synths.
