Janet asked me for the vocals on this one and I remixed it. It's me and her. She's doing the main keys? I'm doing the backup keys... And the bass, and of course the vocals. Like cheese and crackers :-) Peanut butter and jelly? Biscuits and mustered?

It's not bad? A classic to be sure...

Hey Robby,
Not digging the mix on this remix. Lead vocals stand out too much...bring them back down into the mix a little...like about 4db's or so.

A wonderful rendition of one of my favourite classics.
The only thing I'd change would be to let the final orchestral hit take more time in fading out. Seriously, that's ALL I'd change.
I'm left a bit envious of your vocal abilities. When I was younger (about the time this tune was playing on the radio, in fact) I was working on building up the strength in my upper register and could, at the best of times, hit some of those high notes while standing on a ladder. But these days, not so much. I'm left flaying around and stretching for those high notes like a blindfolded kid swatting at a piñata.

Robby, you've got a great voice, but when it overpowers Janet's piano, it's too upfront in the mix. Really like the way everything comes together towards the end. All around, well done!

Dan

More like popcorn and butter!! I loved the song, but here is what I hear. The piano and orchestral part are to close together, the bass fits in perfect and the drums toward the end could come up 1 db. Your vocals are great as always, but are inconsistent in the mix. Scotty says bring them down, I say bring them up or bring down the piano. Not sure about up or down on the orchestration until they are a little more separated from one another. IMHO This is a great old classical piece and I have always loved it. Listen to the record and see what you think, as far as what I am suggesting. You know I'm never right, don't you? You both did a nice job on this one and it jst needs a few tweaks here and there to be perfect. Congrats to you both!!

Peace and Blessings,John

Scotty, you were spot on (as usual) I pulled the vox back quite a bit, and added a clip at about 3 mins from the movie "What about Bob" :-) It's Bill Murry and Janet and me.

Glad I could help!

I may pull it back a bit more in the beginning... Envelopes are your friend ;-) May tweak the orchestra too per John, he's the man when it comes to that shiz. I'm so glad to have people with the skills and talent here who can listen and provide advice, I'm good at what I'm good at, but as Clint Eastwood famously said, "A man's got to know his limitations..."
