My friends who know me, know that I post it? And then I listen? And I say fug (abbreviation) and then I post it again? and then I say fuq! (another abbreviation...) But at some point? I get it right... I'm hoping it's close to right?

If you've listened before? Please listen again. If you haven't? Please do... I think I have it right now. Many remixes, but the mixing is not my strong suit. I think it's pretty good now :-) No more remixes w/o input from people I respect (and you know who you are...)

No input means "it rocks pretty hard as is... ;-)

And I believe that's where it is.

Robby,

I didn't listen to the other praises or crits so my conclusions might be way out there compared to others ( they sometimes are).

First off I can't believe the coincidence here.....I have been working on this one to play publicly within the next several weeks so I went to youtube and had a listen to the original  recording done live by S&G. I know you probably didn't try to exactly imitate these guys. It sounds like you didn't change keys which I'll be doing when I play it.

Here are my impressions- I'm loving your vocals and Janets playing on this. I think the electric keys in the background detract rather than add to the song. To my ears the tempo seems to be a little rushed .The drums around 3:29 seem to be taking over too much of the mix IMO. Not to the extent that it kills it but I would maybe drop them just slightly there and/or narrow their space a little bit.Overall though it sounds great!

I'm not sure I can add anything to what's already been said, but I just have to say I really like the timbre of your voice. It is one of a kind, and many singers would lose an arm or a leg for such a unique sound.

Thanks so much Reb :-) I can't actually take all of the credit? I had a job with a logging company in the Northwest? My job was to yell TIMBRE!!! When they would cut the trees? So I got pretty used to it? Then I parleyed it in to my singing.

TIMBREEEEEE!!!!! (Which meant get the fuq out of the way I believe?) :-)

Robbie, I've been waiting for you to make a few changes before I posted.  In this latest version, I think you may have pulled the vocals down a bit too far because it loses some punch in the finale.  Also, on my system, there is more information in the left channel than the right channel.  I would have liked to have heard the piano spread out over both channels, or, at least, more bass in the right channel (basses don't always have to be centered).  That being said, both your performance and Janet's are right on.  You chose a great song to cover, and because it's so epic, many people know this song well.  Since your voice and Garfunkle's voice are so different in timbre, I might have gone for a total rearrangement of this song so that you could better "own" it.  Nonetheless, you can both be proud of this.  The best to both of you!

Great performance by both of you.  Weird thing is...I've never liked this song.  That's like blasphemy isn't it?  But I don't need to like it to recognize a good performance.  Are the pianos synths?  Robby has a good sounding voice too.
