Hi all, this piece builds up slowly and then sooths out at the very end. The message brief helps to explain the piece as usual. I decided on this one to use some awesome drum effects and sound as part of the major setting, so any comments on this piece would be appreciated as always. I don't think it is to busy and I tried to keep the volume on this one kind of subdued yet relative to the piece. Hope you will enjoy. Remastered 1/14/14

There but for the grace of God go I... The mercies of the Lord are new every morning... (but I usually don't get up till noon?? does it still count for me?)

This is a bit laid back for you John?

I enjoyed it though, like the percussion, and the percussive nature of the strings in places. The change @ 3:16 felt "abrupt" and like a non-sequitor, did not follow...

John, this is yet another example of the high level of writing and production that I expect from you.  I loved the cross fade that Robbie is referring to, and it works for me.  My only nit is the string section at the end of the song.  I would have made it a bit more legato as I can hear the separation of notes there.  But, that's  too minor to quibble about.  Another success story for you.

Robbie, Still counts for you!! God doesn't care if you get up at noon or 3pm, He cares that you care, that is why grace is a gift, there is nothing you can do to earn it, only believe. Yes, this was a bit laid back, but even I need that every now and then, it's a mental thing. I am however glad you enjoyed the piece and the transition at 3:16 is as laid back as the rest of the piece, but it may not work for everyone. Now that I think about it, I may have dropped my pencil then and bent over to pick it up and lost track of what I was doing. You know, brain dead every now and then.

Lynn, Your always too kind with your words, but like always they are always appreciated. It's like being a seamstress and sowing the pieces together to complete the project in my head, that will work together with my short briefs. I message always seems to work better for me when there is music to bring it to fruition. Thanks for listening and being a good friend. I have also re-mastered this since you have listened to it, so you may want to check it out again.

Hi, John,

You've got a very nice, cinematic sounding piece of electronica here with a good clean mix and many interesting elements.

Nice choice of synth sounds, I really like the drums/percussion, and love the break and build that starts at around 2:13, although I think I agree with Robby that the transition at 3:15 almost makes it sound like a different song started to play.  Although, the section following builds tension and does provides a nice change in texture with the melodic strings.

Very classy sounding, powerful piece of music that would fit nicely into a blockbuster movie, John!

Best Wishes!
Bob

+1 on the cinematic sounding piece.  Glad I listened to the whole thing.  I liked the high voices in the middle section.  When they gave way it seemed a little abrupt though.

Bob, Thanks for the listen and the comments, they are always appreciated. In my endeavors to create a piece of music, I am painting a picture  in my mind and sometimes the transitions are abrupt, some crossfade and some flow together like glass. I guess most people are looking for everything to be done like most songs are with smooth transitions, but I just have to go with what's playing out in my head for a video/movie and hope if I ever get to make it (video/movie), it will all come together the way it was intended. You also have to realize, that in a video/movie, I would also be adjusting volume in various sections of a piece to fit the video/movie, as well. Hope that explains why I do some of the things I do, when making these pieces.

olemon, Thanks for listening and your comments, they are much appreciated. Glad you listened through the entire piece and enjoyed it. Some times in a video/movie abrupt is a necessary evil.

I think this is a nice work you have put together John. You seem to be quite a painter too. This would fit well in a lot of different movie settings. I enjoyed it without the movie though :)
