yeah i think i need to do something with that .. may be just as simple as swapping the hats, for somethin a bit bassier .. but will likely get carried away again .. so think i'll keep away from it for a couple days or so .. give my brain  a rest from listening to that over and over ..    do any of you ever wonder what it must be doin to the brain, continually replayin the tracks over and over as theyre being built and tweaked ...

Brian, I loved the video and strings, but when the drum thing came about, it threw me off, but that's not a bad thing. I'm sure that creativity played a part in your choice of using the drum thing and maybe that has to do with your new style of music- radiohead, which I know nothing about. When you use drums though you should find something that fits the rest of the piece. I like big drums, and if you listen to one of my tunes you will know what I mean. The drums you used with that beautiful string section don't seem to mesh/ blend together well and so that would be my only critique.
 
As for what Paulo is saying, not to defend him, but just read your own first couple of posts in this thread. Can you see where you might just maybe be coming off as self centered and counting the posts you need and where you posted them at (Here in this thread), when you could have got your count easily by listening to other peoples songs and just saying how much you enjoyed their song. There are many new comers to this forum that are only here to post their own music and not to learn from others, that started exactly where you are. Believe me, in the past I have had every kind of critique you can think of and then some. But, I learned, because I listened, asked questions and got a lot of answers and some great tips and help. So, don't get offensive and just go slow. Listen to others music and they in return come listen to your and will be more helpful than you can ever imagine.
 
Welcome to the forum and just enjoy yourself and learn all you can. This is a good place to get educated in the wonderful world of making music.

i know what youre saying about paulo .. as i already said previously .. i do agree with his principles ... but ive been a human long anough now, to know when someone is being somewhat condescneding ... perhaps the wrong word .. but the guy came in with a pathetic crappy attitude to get a point across, when you and others are capable of making the eaxact same point in a civil adult manner .. and able to get your point across to me without being offensive and pretending it was native glasgow humour ..
 
i also pointed out to him i did go in and check out other threads .. since he saw my profile shows am from glasgow .. would would have looked at my previous posts while he was at it, and saw that i did exactly thing he accused me of not doing ..

i realised that wasnt quite what i was seeing .. i was seeing a bunch of lovely people .. being pateient .. and taking their time being polite with new comers ..
and anotehr bunch of peopple .. who were abrasive .. beyond the level of amateurs .. on their high horses yappin about how bad things are now witb all these amateurs and the place isnt tehsame any more ...
 
in essensce .. i saw what i saw in most other places .. this can be applied to any large group or body of people ..
always will be lovely people .. and twats ... in every group .,..
i notice peopel in here being twats .. and moaning its cos of newcomers doing this or that .. then other people come along and be nice to me .. just reinforces .. the people acting like twats, are doing so, cos thats what they are .. and just make excuses to justify their crappiness to other human beings
