one more vote in favor of 2445 - I don't own the Valhalla reverbs. Come to think of it I own very few reverb plugins, I still rely heavily on hardware for reverb, but that is changing. Right now the PSP 2445 and Spring Reverb are pretty much in permanent spots in my template, along with UAD Plate 140 and Ocean Way Studios (not strictly a reverb I guess) and Reverberate 2.

When I tried the demo I was immediately struck by the complex, animated nature of the reverb. That's really what  I purchased  it for - I upgraded Reverberate before the holidays, and I really like V2, and it does some of that animated thing, but not as nicely (for me, perhaps I just haven't figured  it out yet?). Anyway, an animated reverb was what I felt was missing, and I was struggling with choosing between brilliant Valhalla Vintage Verb, the brilliant Exponential Audio R2, and the brilliant UAD 224. Tried them all, loved them all... Valhalla was winning based on price, and the fact that the  differences between the three were so miniscule - cases of different, not better/worse.

So I'm pleased with the new PSP plugin. I think that for a little while I'll be one of a few using it, so maybe I'll be a little different<G>!

Think you guys are quite correct. So much good press, put more quality time into it (and found the eq control, thanks).

Zo has it right that the PSP unit adds the effect without overwhelming reverb presence, a subtle space creator. Was able to get close to this with Valhalla plate, but not quite. Did some mix and match with the new Reverberate 2 and came up with an equal, but required a lot more work.

Fighting with the plastic card that's starting to heat up. Maybe a good New Year's resolution. PSP is absolutely the last reverb unit I'll ever buy (for awhile).

John what my question is to you and you have sort of answered it and that is how good can Reverberate 2 get to this reverb.

Also is there a way I can get the Reverberate 2 IR's that you have uploaded. I don't want to join anything, just get the file.

Jeff,

Check the download links somewhere before this in the thread. Let me know if you can't download them and I'd be honored to send them to a home email if you want to try them out.

Nothing to join, nothing to pay or commit. The free public file sites make you go thru a lot of spam rejections before getting to the download. Guess they got to make a buck.

I just wanted to share a couple killer IR files from the Twilight Zone. Only for the joy and the sharing of it. Hoped it would blow the minds of anyone opening them with any convolution engine. Can't get these nowhere else.

Best,
John

I just replaced a drum bus emt 140 with the PSP 2445 and it was marvelous. More clarity and oomph.

I have an album in progress and I'm going back and replacing my current drum buss reverb (i.e. Overloud Breverb Hall patch) with this PSP reverb and the results are really impressive. This is one outstanding reverb. PSP hit this one out of the park!
