anyone know hoe to set it up to use with a midi keyboard in sonar

Use the VST2 dropdown in the standard header attached to the Little Alterboy UI to "Enable MIDI Input"
Add a MIDI track with "Input Echo" enabled, input set to your controller, output to "Little Alterboy"
Hitting keys on the controller should now change the pitch knob in "Little Alterboy"
