It's a VST host, like SONAR. So you run the executable and then go to VST Plugin -> Load and give the full path to the plugin. Bear in mind that it can't load 64-bit or VST3 plugins, so if you want to check out Pro-Q you'll need to point the analyzer to the 32-bit version.

Ah that's why it wasn't working. I don't use 32bit plugs anymore. I guess I should donate for the 64bit version.

I thought this was going to be about the one Minnetonka released years ago that will tell you how much resources a plugin uses.

Here is the download...it's right under the posting...all it says is 7z

Larry, that link no longer works.  Here is the page with info on v2.0:

 http://www.pcjv.de/applications/measurement-programs/vst-plug-in-analyser-2-0/

(The 7z means the file is compressed in the 7-zip native format.  Use 7-zip to extract it).

If you want to do some serious investigation, e.g. comparing your equalizers, it's worth it to install the 32-bit versions just for that purpose. You can put them in the analyzer's folder, out of SONAR's search paths so they don't confuse you when selecting plugins for your projects. Anything the analyzer tells you about the 32-bit version is going to be applicable to the 64-bit version as well.

Thanks for letting me know this. I'm going to install the ones I want to check out.
