Me too. Lemmy was a blow but you had to think, well, there was someone who's days were probably numbered in all seriousness. But Bowie....I just never imagined him as someone who would ever get sick and die. As irrational as that sounds.

Another pioneer lost. RIP :(

We're now reaching a point where we're going to start losing more and more of our great artists who revolutionized music and movies. It's a very sad situation but they are all getting older. Many of the musical pioneers from the 60's are now in or entering their 70's and when you consider the amount of drugs these guys used throughout most of their lives...

Each one will be their own tragedy. At least we'll be able to tell our kids we grew up with their creations.

Playing Low. Actually, I was listening to it again just last week.

I tend to use the word "artist" very sparingly. In my mind, it's a word that's usually better associated with the likes of Mozart, Goethe or Caravaggio than with pop musicians - even my favorite ones.

David Bowie stands out as one of the very, very few exceptions.

I have Lazarus on right now. This is exceedingly difficult to listen to. You could tell he knew. :(
