Nora lets you create the pattern.

Check out a digital copy of Computer Music issue 225.  You can get a Computer Music version of Nora for $5 (the cost of the digital mag).

Or download the demo, etc.

Looks interesting....
Are there any limitations in the CM version?

The abilites are a bit stripped down.  All software has certain limitations.

This sheds some light on what it can do:

and the quote at the bottom points to some things the full blown version adds.

If Nora CM's melodic manipulations have you itching for more, take a look at the full version, Nora 2. It features up to five octaves and up to eight notes per octave, a powerful Pattern Editor allowing 64 patterns per track, a Randomizer for generating ad-hoc patterns, over 1200 presets, and more. Head over to Squaredheads' website for the full lowdown.

Nice video, better than the other one.  I can't help but think that Sonar already has almost everything that's needed.  Just needs retriggering and transposing on notes, some chord unpacking and maybe fitting notes to a scale.  Nora is way overkill, what with its step sequencer/piano roll view, etc.

Lots of other plugins goodies included.

Some I use all the time:

Toneboosters Baracade CM
SideWidener (way better than what comes with Sonar, IMO)
G8 CM

Not to mention the other effects and instruments

(It even comes with Kirnu Cream CM)
