I got something even better in the mail: a tape of my first band playing at a high school dance in 1968. My best friend in H.S. was the bass player in that band, and he'd saved a quarter-inch R-R tape all these years. Best part of hearing it was it didn't suck nearly as bad as I'd imagined it would. Worst part was realizing that I'll never hit those high notes ever again.

That's a cool gift!  I'd love to hear our "talent show" entry of Styx's Suite Madam Blue that we did my senior year of high school... (We lost to a guy who played Johnny B Good behind his back - *Sigh...*).  Such were the times back then!

I wish I had some recordings of my days on the Bossier Strip in 70'. I remember our band playing a lot of Grand Funk, Lepplin, and Hendrix in those days. I can still remember that "hum" coming out of my amp. A Fender Super 6. I bet we sucked but we thought we sounded great

As long as everyone had fun - that's what is most important!

I know I probably shouldn't post this but as many times as I have shamed myself in public up to now

What was the name of the band?  My first (and only) band was called The Chevrons.  Boy, did we suck.  But in a hick town outside of Peoria IL, there wasn't a whole lot in the way of alternative options back in the early 60s.  Three chords and you were good to go for an hour's worth of songs.  Throw in one more chord and you could even put some slow songs in the list.

My high school sweety pie from the yearbook

P.S minus her eye patch, forehead mole, and bow legs which are not visible. Looks like she did have all her teeth, wow

Yours truly on the SG copy with my hommies '75 or so.
We were Oasis before Oasis was.
