I was looking at something online but it was for Sonar 6 using AudioSnap.  I was wondering if there are better options with the drum replacer.  I would like to add some drum parts to an existing song and would like the drum parts to match.  I would like to know...
- How to extract the kit hits?
- Where to save the samples if needed?

Not included in Sonar but I like Addictive Trigger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2NXaVxM328 Each instance linked and it can export all of the midi hits together or individual in several formats. I keep the overheads for ambience and cymbals and tune samples to them. AT allows the use of any Addictive Drum sounds that you have. This is definitely a workflow preference on my part.

I'm not sure I described my question properly.  I do not see how Drum Replacer solves my delema.
 
Say you finish recording a song, the drummer has gone home and you need more drum parts.  The mics are all put away and your a guitarist.
 
You could write the parts if you had the drum samples in a synth...

Spend more time in pre-production so that your arrangements are completely worked out before the recording sessions begin?

Or, as many engineers & producers do, record a complete selection of samples during the tracking sessions.

No offense, but I think you are trying to go about this the hard way.

When I do drum sample libraries I always ask for one-shots of each drum, specifically for this reason. 
 
Anyway...you can split beats with AudioSnap. Bounce the clip of the drum sound to itself, then drag to Session Drummer. See Friday's Tip of the Week #160.

I use Session drummer for this as it very simple and as far as I know the only Sonar supplied drummer that can play any samples. 
 
I make recordings of drums or sound effects. You can also just copy from the original drum audio files. 
I load them into Wave lab to top and tail them so there is zero time at the start and then just enough tail to catch the important part of the tail end. You want them short. 
 
Then I just copy those Wave files into Session drummers library. 
Now I can load them up and play them no problem.
I sampled my drum kit and it was real spooky to play them with a midi track. I totally sounded the same as the audio track.
