Classic drum synthesis is back with a vengeance! Heartbeat is an innovative software drum synth with a familiar, yet unique, sound character. A world class effects section is included, as well as the innovative Auto Layer Machine which will take your beats to unexpected places. Because Heartbeat is more than a machine—it's a living thing with a mind of its own.

I'm interested...

But how much is Heartbeat? On the front page of the Softube website there is a big spread for Heartbeat, but it does not appear on the products page. So you cannot buy it or download a demo... It doesn't appear exist other than as a news item...

In the meantime I will continue with the Drumaxx plug...

Having sold my Novation Drumstation before travelling out here, I've had in the back of my mind to replace it somehow in the future. I as on the fence about Reel Machins for AD2, wanting to go VM instead of Sampled for this style. This looks really cool, but having found the the Softtube ProChannels require an iLok, and assumed that was a general SoftTube policy. Just had a look and it states iLok is not required. I wonder if this represents a shift for them and if they'd rop it from the PC in the future. You can only use PC with Sonar and I guess the other PC are tied to your machine, so I'm confused why SoftTubes PC are iLok.

Hi,

Well, Drumaxx is certainly worth a look at. No samples used. And, as a result of the OP here, I had a look to see if Drumaxx had gone 64 bit yet, and I'm glad to say that it has, so I've now upgraded.

Chromaphone is also another excellent modeller, although not a "drum machine" as such.

I have chromophone though not used it enough (my fault not its), but pretty pleased with how it's sounding.

Drumaxx sounds good though, just listening now. $99 isn't a bad price either. It will be interesting how heartbeat matches up to this

Indeed it will

Price will be most important to me, next to its capabilities, only because I already have Drumaxx. I notice that Heartbeat doesn't have as many outputs and only half the "instruments" that Drumaxx has.

It does sound good though... At least listening to the sound samples.

I guess it's worth you waiting until Heartbeat is released proper

cheers
