Hi, Jerry,

Fantastic job on this great classic cover!  Excellent work on all the performances and staying true to the original.

My only suggestion would be to crank up the guitar solo volume by about 2dB, and back off the heavy reverb after the solo ends, as Warren mentioned.

Really great work, thanks for sharing!
Bob

Thanks Vincente.

Actually, I am playing a 12 string on that one.  I used a Martin 6 string acoustic, a Fender Strat 6 string, and a Fender Strat 12 string.  I read where Jimmy Page used a Telecaster for the studio guitar solo.  On stage he used a double-neck Gibson SG, playing the 12 string on the verses and 6 string for the solo.

Jerry . . . what can I say, anyone who attempts to duplicate THE rock classic will always fall short of the original, and may I say you have done an admirable job in your duplication. The important thing is that your recording really captures the spirit of Led Zeps performance, and I thank you for the attention to detail you have done here.

I used to play this song many years ago in a cover band, and your work here reminds me of how hard it was to perform this song in a live setting.

Makes me curious . . . What else are you working on ?

This was very well done and I'll leave the crits to those that do cover songs. I think you have a great instrumental and vocal talent and did this song some good justice. There is nothing like an original, but when you can come this close, that is saying a lot. Very nicely done. Can't wait to hear your reworked version. Have a great and blessed new year in 2014.

Peace and Blessings, John

Jerry,

Fantastic cover.  You did it justice and that is not an easy feat for a classic like this one.   I can't add any suggestions other than those already stated.  Up to the guitar solo I thought everything sounded great.   The guitar solo was very well played but overly processed making it sound disconnected from the rest of the performance.  The vocals  after the solo were also a bit heavy on the processing.   Not sure if you recorded them with verb or if you can back it off in the mix but my opinion is you should put those performances (solo guitar and lvox after solo) out there and not behind a wall of reverb.  Very minor crits in such a big song.  Really well done.

Regards
