Hi everyone and Happy New Year.

I know what I WANTED this song to be; it just turned out differently (ie. I'm certainly NOT Bing Crosby). Hope it sounds ok: https://soundcloud.com/mark-f-cunningham/always-and-a-day

Thanks for listening. And thank you Cakewalk for this portion of the forum.

Don't know what to say. Should I say sounds great?Well, it not bad and needs more work, plus put some life in to it. Feel the song before you record and it will come of much better. Your new, so welcome to the forum. If you are looking for specifics, then ask and others will comment. Don't be afraid of critique, we all get it in here, but it is to help us get better. Have a happy new year.

Peace and Blessings, John

Hello, Mark.  I liked this song so much that I had to listen twice on different systems.  It has a retro vibe, engineering wise, that I find refreshing.  Your voice is perfect for this style, and your vocal arrangement is top notch.  Nuances throughout the song were interesting and well thought out.  The only suggestion that I have would be to pan your elements wider and fill out the stereo spectrum.  I heard a tiny bit of hum at the very end that possibly could be edited out but doesn't detract from the song at all.  All in all, I wish that I had written this song.

Thanks Lynn...and actually I wanted to make it mono when I started. I just wasn't good enough at making the elements stack together though. The old Hoagy Carmichael records can do it, but I couldn't mange it.

And yes...you caught me with the hum!

I appreciate that you take the time to listen to comment on so many people's material...very cool. (I usually listen and stay hidden!)

Well this is entirely different from most things I hear on this forum. I enjoyed it, it was like a blend of Tom Waits, John Lennon and Justin Currie -  which is nice!
