I've got a free pass to get in, I just have to come up with a legitamit business reason to be there one of these years.
We ship sound rooms out of our building on Friday, for 8-10 of the booths. Not enough of a reason for me to follow them, however. I need to start working on an excuse now for next year.
Michael, you've got the pass and that's the hard part. Maybe you can't get your company to foot the bill, but I guarantee you'll have the time of your life even if you have to cough up the cash yourself.
All you need is airfare - it's warm in LA so you can sleep on a bus bench, and many booths have snacks.
Ha! You got that right, Bit. If I get spotted on show site, I might get put to work anyway though. I work for the company that does NAMM.
The last time I was there was maybe 8 years ago. Because we were there before the doors open and after they close, you get to walk around and really check everything out at your leisure, with out the crowds.
The last time I was there I met Gene Larrivee and ended up spending some time with him after show hours. As a result, a couple years later, I purchase one of his rosewood models.
I certainly do miss it and need to make my way back.
