That describes the problem I had exactly. FWIW the keyboard I had the problem with was a Novation Impulse 49.

I've had this problem as well with the Impulse 61.

Just unplug your controller. 
If the problem does not go away stop using that synth and move on.. no time for bad vsts.. plenty of good one out there... 

I too have had pitch problems stemming from a sticky pitch wheel.
 
I have found some synth samples that are out of tune as well. If you have had them play correctly in the past then that is not likely the issue now. Just a word that there are some bad sample presets out there. I have chased that goose across the lawn a couple of times.
