As per Motorhead's Facebook page...

There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family.
We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words.
We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD.
Have a drink or few.
Share stories.
Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself.
HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT.

If you'd seen the documentary "Lemmy" from a few years back you could kind of see it coming. It wasn't like he was "dying" but he did not seem well and some of the stuff he said was definitely like "I'd better say this before I kick it".

The bit with his son was pretty heavy.

Seeing how many shows were cancelled or interrupted after a few songs this last tour, I can't say that I am all that surprised. He really didn't look well.

But he lived the life and stayed true to himself until the end.

That documentary was actually very, very sad.

I thought it was actually a little condescending at points. Like they were judging some of the sh*t he did.

He was a hardcore from the 70's. Things were WAY freaking different back then.

Still a good watch though.
