I still remember listening to Motörhead's self-titled debut for the first time and thinking these guys were on to something new. It wasn't 'quite' metal, it wasn't 'quite' punk. It was, quite simply, Motörhead.

As the man himself always described his creation, "We are Motörhead, and we play rock and roll".

Thank you for the rock and roll Lemmy.

Lord Tim
Rubbish news.

I had the good fortune of meeting Lemmy and the band in my travels and I have to say that when he walked into the room, every single person there would just stop and have that "wow, it's him" look on their face. I think Dio (RIP) was the only other guy I saw that ever happen with. Just an incredible presence.

The world has gotten just that bit quieter, and less gritty. RIP.
