  • X-Touch and SONAR problems - Fader 1 LED meter does not work

Hi,

I've just noticed that when using my Behringer X-Touch with SONAR Platinum (and have just installed the latest 2017.09 version to confirm this is still the case), that the leftmost LED signal meter (fader 1) does not actually work when playing back.  All of the other meters on the other positions work fine but even if you change the displayed channels using the Fader Bank or Channel buttons, the leftmost meter never displays anything.

I'm pretty sure my hardware is not faulty because other applications such as MAGIX Vegas 14 work fine, so I'm suspecting a problem with SONAR.  I've configured it as a standard Mackie Control in SONAR and all other functions work as expected.  I'm on the latest 1.15 X-Touch firmware.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks
Gary H

Will try it.

No, cannot duplicate.  Everything seems to be on and working fine.  I assume you mean the colored segmented meters going up the left side of the Select, Mute, Solo etc. buttons.  Green on the bottom, yellow and then red at the top.  Also the lit window above it (scribble strip emulator) correctly is lit and shows the track name.

I think I've narrowed this down and figured out what's going on.  The problem I described above only happens if I am using MIDI in UWP driver mode rather than MME.  If I switch back SONAR to MME mode, all of the segmented meters work as expected.  So the problem is either is likely to be in either the UWP implementation in SONAR, or it's a bug in Windows 10.

Either way, I'll have to switch back to old-fashioned MME mode for now.

UWP Has never worked for me, way too many inconsistencies and bugs (X-Touch not detected, keyboard latencies, not showing up devices etc...)

It is MME for me, completely solid....

I too tried UWP and my X-Touch no longer worked.  Went back to MME.
