MesaWinds sounds absolutely gorgeous, and I certainly get the impression that many folks like the Orange Tree libraries in general. Is this one as good as the demos indicate?

I'm guessing it probably is, but I've gotten a bit leery about buying libraries just based on a few professionally made demos...

I find it to be very nice and the tone of the flutes is pretty unique. I use MesaWinds (and Embertone's Jubal Flute) when I need an ethnic flute that is not a shakuhachi or a duduk.
 
These do need quite a bit of EQ work to fit properly in anything that has more than two instruments, but the instruments themselves are really really good.

I don't have this one, but I have the Stratosphere and Strawberry Guitars, The Slide and Lap Steel, Steel Strings, the Core Pear, Rick and Jaco basses, the Rosewood Grand, the Vibes, and Passion Flute (my first one). I even got the Zither as a free download awhile back.They are all terrific. I would expect nothing less from Mesa Winds, and will probably add that at some point, too. There demos are superb, but in fact, when you get the libraries, they sound just as good as you learn to use them. The support is great, too. I say go for it!

I have Mesa Winds (and Jubal flute, as well).  I really enjoy Mesa Winds.  It is not going to work everywhere, but when I want a touch of the wild high plains, it is perfect.  To be effective, it needs some space.  I would not crowd it into an arrangement.
  I have a general fondness for wooden flutes and Mesa Winds is certainly a good one.
