  • How to save without creating a new folder?

I could have sworn I had Splat setup before to not create a new folder every time I saved a new project, but after one of the updates it changed back to creating a new folder every time.  I've been trying to find where the option is to not do this but can't seem to find it anywhere, does anyone remember where it might be?

if you mean creating an "Audio Folder" inside the working project folder, it has become the default now.
you can make changes though on the "save as" dialog box when using save as project.

I mean the working project folder itself, sometimes I don't want a whole folder created for a project.  I may make a few little ideas I want to keep in a folder with other project ideas all sharing the same audio folder, but when I make a new project it just creates it's own project folder with its own audio folder.

Use Save as and browse to the folder you want to use.
Check the "copy audio" box

I'm with you Trance. I don't like the new 'saving protocol'.
Sometimes you just want to mess around with stuff without having to save it in a new folder. I want a folder for these (not quite serious enough) projects.

I do not always want a new folder!

Create a folder called "Not Serious Projects." Create a project by typing Ctrl+N. Save As... into the "Not Serious Projects" folder.

Craig, every time you want to save a new project, it will create a new folder.
A folder called "Not Serious Projects" will fill up with different folders within, each with assoc. audio folders etc.
No?

No?

typing Ctrl+N creates a project without a name; then you can save as anywhere you want

OK, I'll try Ctrl+N     Thanks, rabeach

That's why I said "create a project by typing Ctrl+N." It won't create a folder unless you want to, assuming you have a recent SONAR update.
