Create a folder called "Not Serious Projects." Create a project by typing Ctrl+N. Save As... into the "Not Serious Projects" folder.

I just tried your suggestion and it still makes a folder within a folder.  The thing is I have a folder like that from a year or so ago and the files were saving the way I like in it, with one common audio folder and each project file saved in the main folder not their own folders, but then after some time they started making their own folders again, and now I have no idea how to change it back.  Every time I make a new project it's by using Ctrl+N but that doesn't mean anymore that the project is not going to make its own folder

I have difficulty with version conventions upon saving.

When i started a new project id save the *.cwp into a folder with the song name.
Then as i was archiving Id save the *.cwp into the following format <song name - date format> which would of course then remove any unwanted audio files.

When i do that now I end up with a folder as <song name - date format> then inside that folder i have a folder with <song name> with the files inside that.

Is there a way to change that behaviour?

I stand corrected, I just tried it and you're right. Even if you specify a different folder in the save dialog box, it creates a new folder. You're also right that it didn't used to be this way.

The simplest workaround I can think of is:

  1. Open the new folder, cut the .CWP file, then paste it in the "Common" folder.
  2. Open the new folder's Audio folder, cut all the files, then paste in the "Common" folder's Audio folder.

I believe the problem was that I was saving it with the "Copy all audio with project" selected, that must have defaulted on after an update and I never gave it much awareness

I mentioned that in my first comment. Glad its sorted.

Chuckebaby you can make changes though on the save as" dialog box when using save as project

Yeah you did, I guess I just didn't understand it for lack of coffee or some other reason. Thanks though
