This is the Early Release. The official release is not available yet through the CCC. When it is, the 2017.09 issue of Tech+Music will be published and there will be additional free content.

Hello,

We bought the monthly plan of Sonar Platinum in September 2017 (last month) and the version was
I see now this 2017.08. Now in this thread the 2017.09 is released but where do we download it from?
Our cakewalk command center still has 2017.08 as latest version also in the website it still says 2017.08

Is it not available yet or are we missing something?

Thanks

It is an early release, not official release.

Regards,
Dan

It's the early release, which sometimes still has a few things that need fixing.

The proper release usually follows in a few days, and will show up in command centre as normal. If you want to try the early release, you can get it now by right clicking on Sonar in the command centre and selecting from the Rollback list.

The 2017.09 Update is currently in what we call Early Access. To Participate in EA you will need to follow these instructions. The 2017.09 update will be fully public a little later this week if no major issues come up. At that point it will change your Green light in Command Center to a Yellow light meaning that there is a new public build available.

To participate, you can obtain the Early Access release via:
Cakewalk Command Center under the Rollback menu. Steps:
  • Start Command Center
  • Click the Settings button
  • Click the Check Now button
  • In the Connected Products list, right-click on the product or suite name you want early access to
  • Choose Rollback > Early Access 2017.09 from the context menu
Through your products download page, under "Available Downloads."
  • Click the "Show Other Downloads" button to reveal the link.
If you encounter any critical issues prior to official public release, post them to the Problem Reports Forum. Please include SONAR 2017.09 in the post title, and refrain from including issues not related to SONAR 2017.09 as they may get missed. We’ll do our best to lock posts as we confirm the reports.

Thank you for your participation,
Cakewalk

Thanks Gang...

Very happy to finally have the Inspector's pre/post status remembered in cloning. It's been a petty annoyance for a while...

Note... Again the update is overwriting the factory templates so make sure you've renamed any that you've edited...

Ok I see what you are saying. If I have a track number of a track highlighted and right-click on a different track and use the clone track command it does, in fact, duplicate those two tracks. even if they have other tracks between them. I have always made sure the track I am working with is highlighted though so I never discovered this because I would be clicking on the highlighted track.

Now with a button, even if the track I intend to duplicate is highlighted, Sonar may actually have focus on other tracks and duplicate them as well?

The old Clone command, when selected, brings up a window that informs how many tracks and types of tracks are selected. I guess with this button caution is required.

I'm always cloning tracks so I'm very excited about this button.

There is a difference between selected and focused.
You can have focus on one track but have another selected. Focus is done by clicking in the tracks header. Selection is done by clicking in the tracks number box.

In your video at 0:19 you set focus for track 1 (by clicking on its header)  but you also have track 3 selected, thus it duplicates both.

1- Click CNTRL+SHIFT+A to deselect all tracks and focus.
2- Click a tracks number box in the header (without putting focus on any other tracks).
3- you should only have that 1 track duplicated.

FYI- the dog barking scared the snot out of me.

I often think of printing out a list of common keyboard shortcuts.  Because if you don't use Sonar everyday, for 8 hours a day, you probably won't remember all the keyboard shortcuts you want or need to use.
