I got my gift already. It comes with a back story so sit down and pour yourself a little eggnog while I spin the tale...
It was a warmer than average day this winter when we got word that our favourite tea shop was closing down. It may not seem like much, but this tea shop was very special to us. We had been going there for years, made friends with many of the regulars and the owner and employees were some of the best people we knew who gave the best customer service we've ever had. Needless to say, we were quite heartbroken that the owner decided to retire and was closing the store.
We went in a day after the announcement and my wife instantly burst into tears because the place looked in shambles and stripped of about half of the product. The next morning after he had announced he was closing, customers swooped in and started buying tea by the pound. We too bought what we could from what was left while trying not to be too greedy.
The owner informed us that the following week he'd begin selling his furniture from the store. We didn't think much of it but after we left, my wife noted she would love this particular armoire he stored a lot of products in for Christmas. I called the owner and told him we'd like to buy it and he said he would hold it for us.
The day we went to pick it up he decided to put his bar on sale as it was one of the final pieces in the shop he had to sell but his most used since that was essentially his desk so it didn't get put up till everything else was gone. I talked to the wife and we bought it as my gift. It's now the newest addition to my studio (as I have nowhere else to put it for the moment and I think it looks really good in here).
Here it is:
