I have a Presonus DigiMax DP88 preamp
It has the ability to use midi to control the preamp gain.
So I thought that I'd be clever and create a Sonar project with 8 midi tracks set to control the preamp and use the Daw Remote app from my Ipad to set input gain remotely.

It worked fine. I was able to save projects so that I could load settings from a previous recording sessions and levels would be set.

So, the other night I'm recording a drummer and an audio drop out stopped Sonar.
I accidentally hit the reset audio midi button instead of the audio engine restart.
It set the level of all 8 pres instantly to full gain!

That couldn't have sounded good in the drummers headphones!
Not to mention that the control room door was open and my monitors started feeding back.

So I disconnected the midi cable to the DP88 and went over the drum kit to reset proper level.
I'm never using that function again.
Heads up!

Never ever turn on an audio device (audio interface, stereo, etc) with headphones on, period!
