Thanks to everybody for taking the time to listen and comment, I really appreciate it!
As several have mentioned, the cymbals (all of them, to me) are a little hot and in some places probably over compressed but I had to compromise a bit to get the drum sound I wanted since I only had a stereo track of drums to work with.
If anyone is interested, all of the guitar tracks were recorded completely dry. I used Guitar Rig 5 to process them on this mix, on the original project I used ReValver Light or LE or something that came bundled with Guitar Tracks back then.
I only remixed this, first of all, to see if X3 would even open it as I mentioned in the op. Once I got it opened it seemed natural to do a remix. This was one of the first digital in-the-box recordings I ever did and the original mix was way too hot and sounded almost like an old mono recording, with no width at all.
A lot of folks have asked me who the girl is that does the spoken part. Sadly, I don't know her, I downloaded that sample from somewhere, I can't recall where. Oh well, hopefully she's as hot as she sounds and not some old wrinkled up crone making money in her spare time doing voice work in her linen closet.
Heh, that would just be wrong.
Thanks again, everybody, stay safe and Happy Holidays!

I love it!..and I wish I was Jeff Beck too. This has a great groove and mix, and it does sound like something Beck would jam on.
