I wish they would release just a Harrison EQ module that would emulate the Mixbus 3 sound.
I am happy with Sonar and Studio One for tracking and mixing but what you guys are saying about the sound has me very interested.
With a VST EQ module, it would give us the best of both worlds?

Your wish is granted...you just have to own a UAD card or interface...

Thanks for the info. Not easily affordable. MB3 appears to be the cheapest route.

You'd be hard pressed to find anything as good as Mixbus for the money...

I have no interest in using plugs with mixbuss at this time. The built in EQ, comp, limiter are all very nice and I intend them to be part of the final processing. It seems that there is some magic in the distortion they add to get the console sound. I've got some Abbey Road stuff and other console emu's but they don't sound as rich as the Harrison.

Is there any to use MB3 similar to VSL's VEPro5; routed directly out & back into Sonar for streaming, mixing audio in realtime or rendering?

I've read about Jack (separate install) where something like that can be done.

Thanks,
I found this, think I'll wait a while before trying-
"A simplified JACK  (which is not visible to other applications) is automatically installed when you install Mixbus.
If you would like to interconnect the audio of different applications into Mixbus, then you can download and install a system-wide version of JACK.
This is not endorsed or supported by Harrison at this time."

I am blaming all of you for making me buy it. Its all your faults.  I didn't like Mixbus 2 but 3 seems a lot better and somewhat sophisticated. It does sound better. I was impressed by how well it sounds. I believe one can get the same sound from Sonar but with a lot more fuss.

One area that is a real problem is its VST support. I found a lot of my goto VSTs are unstable in Mixbus 3.  I don't want their plugins. Not yet at any rate.

With 3.1 coming soon with CS support I am going to use it more than I did version 2.

Over all its a good DAW that needs a bit more development but its on the right track.

I hear what John's saying. Getting into Harrison plugs would be a slippery slope. I'm doing all the early signal processing in Sonar and using the Harrison console EQ, comp. limiter and so on for my final output.
