I am blaming all of you for making me buy it. Its all your faults.  I didn't like Mixbus 2 but 3 seems a lot better and somewhat sophisticated. It does sound better. I was impressed by how well it sounds. I believe one can get the same sound from Sonar but with a lot more fuss.

One area that is a real problem is its VST support. I found a lot of my goto VSTs are unstable in Mixbus 3.  I don't want their plugins. Not yet at any rate.

With 3.1 coming soon with CS support I am going to use it more than I did version 2.

Over all its a good DAW that needs a bit more development but its on the right track.

Which ones are you having trouble with? Most of mine work fine, but EZKeys won't work at all (unless they've fixed it). That is strange to me because EZD2 works fine. All of my Fab Filter, Valhalla, Klanghelm and TDR plugs work. Even some of the Cakewalk stuff works, like channel tools for example.

Well I was using Nugen Visualizer 2 it worked until I tried to reposition it. I also hear on their forum Melda plugins wont work. I haven't tried them yet. I'm waiting for version 3.1 to come out. I believe things will be fixed with it.

I believe it is a very promising DAW that for now is a little unstable and not fully fleshed out. I should say I have used Nugen's stuff for many years and have never had a problem with their plugins.  Mixbus may also have a problem with VST 3. This is all 64 bit.

Everyone please keep in mind that whatever I say about Mixbus 3 is based on a very limited knowledge of it and very preliminary observations. At this point I know just enough to be dangerous. Also I did not like Mixbus 2.  Mixbus 3 is a very different animal.

I hear what John's saying. Getting into Harrison plugs would be a slippery slope. I'm doing all the early signal processing in Sonar and using the Harrison console EQ, comp. limiter and so on for my final output.

I got every Harrison plug on sale (50% off) except the deesser. Just watch for the sales.

FWIW, I do not plan to use Mixbus3 as a MIDI based DAW.

I expect to export from SONAR and mix in Harrison and master in Wavelab.

This may not always be my workflow, but for sure I do not ever expect to use VSTi technology in Mixbus 3.

John are you on the latest interim release (2257)?

Yes Bapu I am. If you have any thoughts I am all ears!

John,

No particular thoughts especially if you're on the latest interim.

I can say this, just like on this forum, the few times I have tried to replicate a VST error someone was getting I never ran into the problems they had. As always each person's setup may differ just slightly enough.

As I said, I don't plan to use SoftSynths in MB3 (as of now) so I have absolutely no suggestions there.

I am off from the 24th through Jan 3 and so I hope to give all my 64bit plugs a thorough run in MB3 to see what falls out. Maybe by then 3.1 will be out (it's a bit overdue in my opinion, but as they say.... it's ready when it's ready).

The situation is not about VSTis (haven't tried those yet)but VSTs. Are you sure that will be enough time Bapu. I believe you have every Plugin known to mankind!

The few VSTs I've tried have not failed in Interim 2257. My current test project is 20 audio tracks and the single non-Harrison plug I'm using is the Relab LX480 verb.

As I said, I've tried to confirm reported bugs with a few VSTs but where others had failure I had success.

Ya, I may need a year or two to actually test all my VSTs (especially combinations).
