So I bought the Komplete Kontrol S61 keyboard and it arrived this weekend. Registering it gave me a $25 voucher, but I have Komplete Ultimate (and I don't have Machine), so I'm not really sure what - if anything - to use this on.

thoughts?

PS: Didn't get to use the keyboard this weekend due to spending my time as a computer tech with my UAD. It sure does look pretty when it boots up with all of those lights though! :)

Hi James,
Its a nice purchase.
I would suggest, as the voucher is valid for 90 days (I think so), please give time for exploring Komplete Ultimate. Then only you will be able to understand what you have and what pack you need for your music.
NI's gallery is vast. Explore them and you will also find some youtube videos as well.
Regards
SG

Today (last day) Emotive strings is still $149 and Strummed Acoustic is $49.50. Not sure if you can use the voucher on sale items though.

bummer - just tried and no, you cannot use a voucher for sale items.

Strummed acoustic seems interesting to me...

I picked it up. Of all the strum engines I have this one seems the easiest to implement with it's "smart mode" (i.e. single key press for a chord within the key you choose).

Thanks Bapu - I think I will grab it on sale for $49.50.

For a strum engine probably the best bang for that price IMO. The guitar sound is not half bad either. And, since it is a clean acoustic with Melodyne DNA you could probably convert to MIDI and use another acoustic guitar lib. Just a thought.

I like how you are thinking on that. Melodynes converting audio to midi make for a lot of possibilities on all kinds of things.

I'm also curious to run it through Tantra for some interesting rhythms...
