You better set aside some time and check to see if it changed any settings. I had to turn off some notifications. It tried to push me into using EDGE, I'm not yet sure what all it did but the first screen that came up after about an hour of installing and restarting I got a big message telling me WE HAVE UPDATED YOUR PC. Maybe it is just me and my bad attitude but I would have liked it a LOT better if had said that I just updated my PC.
They seem to be getting more and more pushy.
If Cakewalk makes a MAC version of SONAR, I might jump.... probably from the frying pan into the fire but I hate things being pushed on me, just a general principle.
I'll get over it but really... this took a long time to update so be ready, it isn't a quicky like most of them have been. The first browser page did not perform correctly with scrolling, others have been OK. I just don't know what al they did... I did notice they turned access back on for beacons etc. Then again, maybe I had that turned off in iOS.. it all begins to run together, especially this time of year.

GET OFF MY LAWN...

My screen just went from bright to dim several times for no good reason. I hit the brightness key and it seemed to fix it... but IDK.

Seems like a long time to update, did you just recently, within the last few weeks get that major update that was released ? I wouldn't have thought they would release another major one so soon, but from memory it didn't even take that long. I am hoping that you are just getting it, because after it installed last time my Mercuriall software need to be re authorized and they only allow 3 so only one left, (I think maybe AD2 and AK as well), I guess I would just have to contact them and explain, but I would not like this sort of thing happening regularly, if it just updated and nothing required re auth' ing then fine, but it could cause issues with purchased software that only allows a certain number of auth'/installs.

Ah, 1511, that was the one that dropped back a few weeks, you should be fine (touch wood) no issues for all my Computers. Apart from the need to re auth a couple of things.

It is 10586.36... dealing with MS is getting like dealing with the dam government. I don't like it and I'm not sure why, it makes me feel like I'm not in control of my computer. Someone on tenforms said it reconfigured their firewall. I'll need to check that but I don't use Windows FW so I'm probably OK. I use Panicware popup blocker so I'm likely ok there too (someone else said they are now getting popups). Easy fixes but I checked and all my notifications were turned on (I'm pretty sure they were off). They changed my default email from Windows Live to MAIL. I don't like stuff like that. Change is usually good, but let me decide... I'll generally do it but I like to at least think it is my decision.
We can KMA... at least let me think I am updating my PC. Stuff like this gets under my skin and for no good reason except that it's Christmas, people stay too long, talk too loud, I have to arrrrgghhhh ....
I'll be OK.
Tomorrow is a new day... roight?

In another thread I mentioned that 1511 was more like an entire install as opposed to an update. I does reset many of the configuration settings so a good look is worth the time. I've noticed that a couple updates since then have been directly labelled as updates for 1511. Dick was right, they did have to fix a few things after 1511.

Just done a quick check, all my settings seem to be the same as they were before the major update, and can't recall changing anything after it on any of my Computers.

jbow ,
I had the same update this week ,
Yeah , I have to say Windows 10 is one sneaky little ba$tard ..
If this OS  was a person visiting me at my home it would probably steal my wallet and then get on all fours and try to help me look for it

I just updated to 1511 and it took a whopping 2 minutes from start to finish.
I have an SSD C drive and fast internet connection. I also stay pretty current with the software I use.
