I am on the fence whether to buy the UAD Neve 1073 combo plug" channel strip", I wonder what other company has one the emulates the 1073 EQ and perhaps amp,I my have it and not even know it

what say you for other choices????

Oh, the 1073 might be the most emulated EQ ever.  I can think of these off the top, in addition to the UAD model:

Slate VMR FG-N
Waves Scheps 73
Sonimus Burnley
IK EQ 73
Nebula: AlexB N73

If you haven't tried any of these, I'd advise doing so before buying.  You can't go wrong with the UAD, but one of the others might suit your fancy, and probably for less money.  I personally like the Sonimus -- it's pure rock 'n' roll.

Cheers,
Eddie

I have the IK Multimedia EQ73 and love it. Use it fairly regularly.

Highly recommend the 1073 from UAD.   Other emulations do not give you the further flexibility of UAD's Unison technology which also gives you access to the 1073 pre-amp, et. al.,  when recording through the Apollo..   I record most everything guitar, drums, bass or vocals,  these days through the 1073 on my UAD Apollo.  Really great plug.   If I could only keep 1 of my UAD plugins I would keep the 1073.  In comparison, I have the Waves Neve stuff, the V-Series EQ and never use them.  Also tried the Scheps 1073 and I don't think it even comes close to the UAD plug.   I am a fan of Waves too, so not knocking them.  Their SSL stuff is pretty amazing as are many of their other plugs...Just very pleased with the UAD 1073.  I have seen it on sale for $99 on the UAD store.  Hope this is helpful.

Here is a nice comparison and overview of the Neve 1073 by Pro Tools Expert.

Lindell has a 1073?  When did that come out?

I like their plugins a lot.  Pretty heavy on the CPU, tho (IME).

And yes, if you have an Apollo interface, the UAD 1073 is the way to go.  Their Unison tech is dang impressive.

The Waves V-EQ3 is also very nice, although this claims to be a hybrid of a 1066 and 1073. All I know is that it gives a schweeeet vintage sound when you use it for boosts.

yorolpal, your post prompted me to check out the Lindell plug-ins. I don't know which one is a 1073 emulation but I tried the PEX-500 eq and the 6X pre amp and I love them. The Lindell Plugs are nice. I have a piano track that for the life of me could not get it to sound good. With both the 6x and PEX-500 I got the piano sounding amazing. I decided to see if these two plugs would improve several of my other tracks, nylon gtr, strings and on individual drum tracks and well they did improve them nicely. You know where $200 out of my pocket went today. Lol
