I tend to stay away from the Songs forum when I'm composing...don't want to get influenced by other songs. My latest has been difficult and time consuming, but I'm over the hump and am almost at the point where I can hear the whole thing in my head. Now to record it...lol.

Dan, I like to listen to other musicians because I get my ideas from listening to what they are doing....  yeah, I know that comment probably freaked out a bunch of people thinking I'm stealing their ideas..... nahhhh... not so... but I do hear things and get inspired just seeing how they do something or incorporating a really cool lick or progression..... heck I heard a rocking christmas tune and made a note on it to incorporate in something I will likely write in the new year....
 
 
Bob:  The pedal steel is one of my favorite instruments. Thanks for noticing. I was searching for a decent steel guitar sound and looked at a number of plug in VST's and nothing really did the job effectively for my skill levels on a keyboard..... until I found real tracks. It's sampled.
