That says my subscription ends tomorrow. Although I'm supposed to be good until February. Don't really care since I bought all the plugs I'm interested in...except Bomber...during the BF sales...but geeze Louise...what a cockup.

In the same boat as you, olpal.  But I've decided to move away from the rack-based plugins since I was never crazy about the concept to begin with, I can get just as good or better results from other tools, and I've run across odd memory-related issues with old projects that use the rack -- my system has quirks with some aspects of plugin memory management, apparently, that makes it not play well with the ever-growing VMR rack.  Haven't heard about this kind of problem from other users, so it's probably just me.

I was initially interested in the subscription model, and still think it's a good idea for many, but the Gobbler implementation hasn't exactly made me a fan of Slate's offer.

Still a Slate fan, and I still use his other products (love VBC, VTM, SSD4, etc.), but I do wish that more companies would do things in a simple, straightforward way.

Cheers,
Eddie

The Slate/Gobbler partnership was a huge mistake for Slate. I could never get Gobblers software to even work on my computer to use the plugs (sound familiar, Sonar users?) so I ended up letting my account just lapse and they wanted to remind me every single day that my subscription was ending.

To make matters worse, I've said more than once that Slate plugins feel like they are programmed with a potato. You add Gobbler into the mix and the whole thing becomes just unusable. I own the Slate plugs I wanted though I'm finding myself using other plugins more lately.

The Gobbler thing turns me off too. I like the LX480 but in the end I have so many reverbs and I doubt the LX480 would be my "goto".

I did just get the EQ/Lift combo for $94 and I'll probably get the FG-BOMBER when my "freebie" subscription period ends. I like what it did on the one song I used it on.

I'm not heavily for or against the rack concept. Just another tool IMO.

Other than Gobbler asking me to log in periodically on start up, I haven't had a problem with it. The FG-Bomber was already on my iLok, so I didn't even bother using Gobbler. I just went to Slate digital and updated the VMR there. Next time may be different though.

The reason I ask is my iLok account say I'm expiring on Jan 6. I registered on Aug 8.

FWIW, I never started up for the free trial or subscription after signing up, but recently  they kept pinging me about my CC not on file, cant renew, blah blah...it got to the point I filtered them to the trash folder.

I'm supposed to be good until Feb 2016 but who knows.  They're all working this morning.
