I also have the 2013 (I think Mega or Plus pack...can't remember...) and wasn't sure if I should get the 2016 upgrade (Christmas gift :)). Which one did you get Baps and what was the upgrade price?

UltraPlusPAK $169 but I also git the $49 bonus pak. I chose the hard drive option so there is $15 shipping cost.
 
In 2011 I bout the OMNI PAK. But in 2013 I got the UltraPlusPAK, same this year. Same as it will ever be since I doubt the lessons will change that much form the 2011 version.

I think I'll try to spend some 'quality' time with the version I have and make sure it's worth going in for the upgrade. Like you said, that cartoon GUI is somewhat of a turn off, but will try to overlook that......

From 2013 to 2016 there is just over 16GB of new realtracks. Depending on how deep you want to use the program that could be a real bargain.

True dat.....true dat....true dat.....but, I only get one choice as a Christmas gift and I want to make sure that it's something I'll spend time using.
Ashamed to say this, but I've had BIAB 2013 since it first came out and I've still to use it on a song.....or even attempt to compose a song......
