Has anyone had success in getting Garritan PO to work as a vst plug in on Sonar Producer?  What did you have to do?

Thanks

Yes.  I use Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 with Sonar Platinum

What have you tried so far and what is the result?  Where exactly are you stuck?

I use it, and Jazz and Big Band. It's quite straight forward - Insert Aria as a VST. Load the instruments in the various channels. Are you having difficulty assigning midi channels and outputs, etc?

Thank you for all your responses.  Please excuse my ignorance.  I think part of my problem is the difficult (to me) EM-U sound card I have to work through.  I open up PO and assign for example solo violin to channel 1.   When I next assign I/O I notice I cannot change the I/O, it is always 1/2.

I then open Sonar.  I get an error message that says certain tracks (all my audio) are assigned to silent output.  I then open Sonar and in a midi track under Input I assign channel 1.  Under output my synthesizer is routed thru Port 2 and that is the only option to get the PO to play.  Unfortunately it also plays whatever my synth is open to also.  Also, in midi track I can right click for vst load, it does not show PO.  If I go to Options/Audio it shows PO there.

In an audio track there are no options for me to choose either input or output, although PO does show up here as a vst.

My 2nd probably related issue is PO seems to override my metronome settings.  If I just open Sonar and go into settings I have choices to set my metro output.  When PO is opened also, I have no output options (as in "none") when I go into metro settings.

Thanks again.

Have you updated your Aria player (Which is 1.872) and the Aria Engine (which is 1.916)?

Also, are you using Aria or Aria(multi) VST ?

I just bought Aria this week, so I assume it is the latest edition.  I believe I am using multi VST.

You can check the version number in the Aria Player "settings" tab.  Access by clicking "settings" on the right hand side of the Aria player window.

Is the word "Multi" in the Title bar of the Aria player window?  On my Platinum the exact tile contains "ARIA Player (Multi) 1"

Problem Solved.  Apparently Garritan VST needed to manually copied into my Cakewalk Program VST file directory.  I thought it was I installed Garritan, but it was not.

Thank you to all of you for your time in trying to help me.
