Screw Steve Jobs and the horse he rode in on. Course...I say that with love.

If that were screw Tim Cooks, I'd actually agree with you. :P

Only goes to show how different people work differently. As mad at them as I get at times, every time I use my Android phone or that Samsung allegedly "Smart TV", I am reminded of why I switched to Apple products in the first place. Especially for the DAW. The more streamlined + the less option + the less 3rd party apps = the better for me. I hate to have to keep on top of all that stuff and waste time keeping up to date.

Hi,

Haven't gotten that far yet ... still in the old ages with a simpler cell phone! I can't see well enough to text, anyway!

My cell is still an older flip-style phone with messaging disabled.

How do you run Sonar on an iDAW?

I bought an iphone from a private individual mainly because I got a great deal on one with 64gb of memory. I opted for the smaller size because I keep the thing in my pocket most of the time. This was a big mistake since I could have made great use of a larger screen, otherwise I'm really happy with the phone. Haven't ever had any problems with it ( not to minimize you if you have had problems) Updates come seldom and they ask me how I want it installed. I usually opt for having it done at night.
I can watch my webcam on it during the day to check on my house, I can control  equipment for large installations from  it from anywhere in the world. Isn't technology great! Oh and it makes and takes phone calls too.
I still have Amplitube and a few soft synths  but I'm not using those as much as I thought I would.

I need to find the OFF button for updates... it seems that's all my phone wants to do every night.

What probably contributes to the feeling is those constant notifications about any and everything on the home screen - like important information about this app and that thing...

Honestly, the best phone I've had so far is this Microsoft Nokia  thing.  It seems less intrusive than Android and faster too, in my experience anyway.  I had an iPhone 3 once..
I have a Microsoft phone. £10 a month cheaper than the most basic iPhone, I am very happy with it. Integrates seamlessly with my Windows 10 computers.

The only down side is a few apps are not Windows comparable.

My wife and I both got iPhones when we finally relented and stepped into the world of inevitable technology. I also have an iPad. It didn't take me...and my curmudgeonly personality...at all long to come to absolutely hate all things Apple. My wife even less. She now has android phones...for both work and personal usage. I'm sure I'm soon to follow. I detest Apple's business model and will do my damndest not to support it in any way...as soon as it is economically feasible. Screw Steve Jobs and the horse he rode in on. Course...I say that with love.

My Mrs. got an iphone 4 before I got my HTC S One Android.
I'm sure glad I didn't go with the iphone, because the more I fiddle wth hers, the more I like the HTC better - so much better. I will say though, that the sound is better on the Apple, but otherwise I just don't see the attraction. I find it to be more of a huge PITA than anything else, inevitably leading me to quick and utter frustration.

Besides, I've never been one to buy the latest and greatest anything - usually because over the years I found that if the crowd goes for 'this' then I always seem to be happier going for 'that' instead.

I'm always amazed how on TV, everyone with a Cell phone is always holding an iphone - only - ever.

That's because Hollywood types live in a different reality from the rest of the world.  Your observation is only one of many where their impression is skewed!
