Have any Tips, Thoughts, Experiences?
I've wanted a "High Strung" guitar for a some time, just never had the right guitar for it.
(My Taylor is my "Studio" guitar and my Takamine is my "take out" and play guitar.
So I picked up a Sigma 000-18 a couple of years ago,

with an eye to converting her to "High Tuning" or lap slide (she actually "shined" at that!).
I spent Friday making a compensated saddle for her and I'm really quite happy with the results.
So what guitar do you use?
Intonation issues?
Shall we discuss...

I've had a Wechter Nashville high tuned guitar for several years now and just about love it near to death. I use it on easily 75% of my projects just to add color. It is a veritable hoot. Don't leave home without one!

The only things that come to mind are to watch the bridge for signs of lifting and be ready to adjust the neck relief.

I bought a cheapo guitar off CL to try it and I liked it.
It busted a string sitting in the guitar stand and I haven't fixed it yet.
Having to buy 12 string sets to pilfer is kind of a pita.

And I was wondering;

"What kind of tuning do they use at Nashville High"?

Haha. Must be low blood sugar!

Pretty sure that Washburn (others too) now makes a Nashville high strung parlor size guitar for not much geetus. Check Sweetwater and GC.

Juststrings has "High Tuning" sets; I did the same (pilfered from 12 string sets) but won't in the future.
I did break the "G" string (.008 on the light set I have), but that was during the saddle making process.
The constant tune up, tune down, pull the bridge pin, got to it real fast.
Here's a shot of the completed saddle.

(I know, its a bit out of focus. Out of Focus, wasn't that a Blue Cheer song, but i digress...)
The "slots" are a no-no, but as you can see the pin holes are anything but equidistant.
A little work on the nut while I was at it and she plays very nice indeed.
I went with a .010 at the "G" in the final setup.
010 - 014 - 010 - 012 - 018 - 030
(went with an .030 "semi flat" I pulled from a Lap Steel 8 String set I bought to get the "right" 6 for my BR-9)
Haven't played Extra Lights (.008) on my electrics since I was a "wee little laddie" (I used to break some of them).
Since settling on .010 -.052 (again my electrics) I rarely, if ever, break strings.
Think I had to "polish" a saddle on my PRS years ago, that stopped that (string breaks).
Bought a set of "hi" for that PRS, might try it on the electric as well...

Hi,

Now you have to tune it all differently to revere Nashville?

Can't you pick Paris, London, NY or SF? ... a little easier maybe and not so whinny?
