It is here in Australia, that's what I have always known it as, when I started to hear the 'mericans saying it the other way, I just couldn't get how anyone couldn't understand it didn't quite fit the application.

Missing out the word "not" seems to be getting more and more fashionable.

Hence the confusion when someone looking for technical support/help says "I can get that to work" but keeps asking how to get it to work...

I thought it was a new thing, but I found an example from the late 1990s a few weeks ago. In an academic article no less.
