Back to the Blues.  Here is a brief number which has been done in the Memphis Blues style that would be along the lines of Bobby "Blue Bland, the Beale Streeters, etc.  At least that was the intent.  What is it that they say about the paving on the road to hell?  I am still fighting with MIDI and the input latency with my keyboard and sound card but I went ahead and put the horns in this number in spite of that.  I don't quite have the patience that I need to correct this problem in using the piano roll view.

Your suggestions, crit.'s, comments, etc., as always, will be appreciated.  I received a number of good suggestions on my last post.  I can apply a lot of them to future projects as well.

Thanks.

Man, Your just churning them out. I like this one a lot. Being from the south I have been musically raised on the blues. This sounds like the real deal to me. Great job!

Nice one Freddy!  The horns sound good to me.  Great, natural sounding vocals on this one.  A winner!

Freddaaaaay! This is so saturated, it came pouring out of my phones! It was so wet and blue! (I was wishing it was wet and pink...)

The question is, "Can Blue men sing the Whites?" (I too think you accomplished what you set out to do... WHICH WAS TO ROCK!) (That was one of my pseudonyms back in the day when I acted in films... "Rock Hard." They were documentaries on Rock and Roll? But some of the more prudish among may have taken it in another way? They always do that.)

I think you accomplished what you set out to do Freddie. Has that good old southern blues sounds from that era and you did a good job on this and the vocals were right on the money. Nice One.

Peace and Blessings, John

Congrats, Freddy.  When you return to your roots, you have authenticity that is often lacking in today's music.  I can feel your blues from here.

Freddy - this is fantastic - you put out some of the most entertaining blues music around - this is just great.

I can feel the heat of the swamp - even over here in freezin' cold Germany in November - when I listen to this! Very authentic, just as Lynn mentioned. The horns are good too, the latency did not harm the performance!

Thanks Clint.  I appreciate the comments.  When, in your formative years, you grow up eating the Blues for breakfast, lunch, and dinner they kinda get under your skin.

Many thanks Walt.  I appreciate it.

Hey Robby -- thanks!  "Can blue men sing the whites?"  Did you come up with that on your own?  That just struck me as really funny.  I read that - started laughing hard --- and then had to dry off the seat I was sitting in.

Thank you John.  I know my Blues tend to get stuck in that vintage era (late '40'4, '50's, and early '60's) but there was just so much going on in the Blues at that time.  Not only a bunch of different sub-genre but experimentation with techniques like distortion, with style, etc.  This was also the era where rhythm and beat was driving the blues and I am a rhythm nut.  Thanks again.
