Yeh, that was kinda rude, hijacking PDFs like that. I pulled up the same document in both readers side-by-side and was surprised to see that Adobe reader's text was clearer, and a better experience all around even though I appreciate that Edge went out of its way to mimick Adobe's shortcut keys.
 
When I opened Adobe it presented a dialog to "make Adobe Reader my default PDF application". I clicked OK and got an error message saying "Adobe Reader was unable to become your default PDF application" (I was running as Admin; it should have worked). MS apparently does not want to make this easy. I had to find where you set file associations in Windows 10, which of course is in a completely different place from any previous version of Windows.
 

The eLicencer issue was solved by running the licence control software and letting it do self-maintenance.
 
The usually temperamental Korg legacy collection seems to have survived without needing a reauthorisation.
 
EW Composer Cloud  is working as is UVI workstation so it seems the iLok stuff is OK (I use machine based licences) Some posts had led me to worry there may be issues.
 
Adobe Creative Cloud need to log in again and took a password recovery phone number, but it seems to be working, its downloading updates to Photoshop and Lightroom now.
 
I believe XLN programs need re-authorisation, I will check that an FXPansion later, then I should be good to go!

It worked for me!

When I was installing 10, I was able to do the "custom" install,  versus "express"...which apparently allowed NOT to have all the Microsoft invasion happening, ditch Adobe reader, make Edge the default, etc. etc.  Basically I unchecked the first 3 pages, or about 15 boxes, to not "install".  Maybe if you walked away when installing, after a certain time period, it just automatically did the "express" install which checks everything! 

Seems nice so far and NO MORE silly "tiles" or "charms"...or whatever they were, flying out the sides of my monitors, (in Win8), should my cursor get to close to the edge.  That was a pain when editing, for sure.
 
These forums have been invaluable for 10, as well as Sonar.  Glad I'm here.

Sounds like I SHOULD dl this thing.
Then I will have a "coaster" and a "door stop"!
Well Sonar drug me kicking and screaming from XP to Win 7.
Guess it will eventually do the same 7 to 10

Right click on a PDF file then select open with/choose another application/ then flag the always use this app to open pdf. files and then select the app you want to use, or you can set this from settings/apps/ ecc. the first way is easier.
