Hey everyone, I recently purchased a new laptop, Intel core i7, 2.8-3.5ghz,  8gb ram, running WINDOWS 10, 64 bit
Cakewalk 64bit. Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 Interface, Alesis DM10 drums

My previous laptop had the same technical capabilities, but it was windows 8.1.

I have never had problems with my E drums having delays, AFTER, setting buffer size low as possible.

Now I am unable to drag the buffersize bar, instead it shows another window with select settings.
Almost as if I'm running a different version of cakewalk. EVERYTHING is up to date.

here is my current reported Latency in Driver settings
Input/output latency is at 9.1msec
18.1msec Roundtrip
buffer at 2.9msec

When I try playing my kit I get that short trigger delay, my drum module is not causing this issue either.
No matter what buffer settings I use, I always have this delay. It has gotten better, but I am now out of options since I've tried all the listed buffer sizes

Is there a way I can bypass this problem??
Like I said, I've always been able to fix this issue, Maybe I haven't selected the right settings???

Thanks for reading and for any response. I'm pulling my hair out! I haven't been able to record due to this issue

There are two sources of latency you have control over:
1) the audio interface buffer setting
2) plug-ins in the project

The buffer size slider under Mixing Latency in SONAR preferences is available when running any driver mode other than ASIO. Your interface has an ASIO driver so you should probably use ASIO driver mode. When running ASIO driver mode buffers are set in the client supplied by the manufacturer of the interface.

To see if your project has any plug-ins that require Plug-in Delay Compensation, click on the FX button in the Mix module or "E" on the keyboard to bypass all plug-ins. If the latency goes away, there are plug-ins needed PDC in the project. While reading abut the FX button in the Mix module in help, look at the PDC button too.

There was a terrible fuzz sound during playback with FX, you could still hear the midi delay while testing my drum module
