Bob Oister
Hi, Walt,
Wow, that is some really tasty smooth jazz with amazing synth work and excellent guitar from both you and Clint!
I love how well textured and crystal clear the mix is and how it takes you on a classy journey with lots of cool twists, turns and surprises.
Great stuff! Have a good one, buddy!
Bob
Thanks so much Bob! To be honest, the "journey" kind of just happened that way, due to my still-evolving songwriting process. One of the things I'm finding in doing solo writing/performing is that there's nobody to play off of, so it's much harder to develop a song in the same organic way I'd previously done working in a band with other people. It requires a lot of iteration this way, having to go back and redo earlier parts that were put in to keep time or setup the main groove, etc. And then it's easy to go too far and lose something simple that was already cool. Anyway, I'm still working on my "process" for synth music, but I think this one came out pretty well, and I'm glad you've enjoyed it!
You've inspired me as well with your album release, and your persistent follow-up here on the forums to promote it. Motivation can often be hard to come by, but you always seem like you have a lot of energy, Bob. I salute you for it.
