:-)

A fun project with the boy :-) Better than some might think based on the title... I worked pretty hard on it.

Thanks so much. I really want to get him in to music, but I'm trying to expose rather than "push?" It's a delicate balance? He has the talent, I'm trying to pique the interest...

It's a trick in this day of video games. But I have faith that talent and inspiration will find its level...

We've had the conversation about those guitars? I play them now? One day, I won't... He can play them or sell them? I would rather he play them...

He said he would learn to play them :-D

Thinking about the Christmas tune...

I think you did a great job on the production Robbay.....
The father/son thing was touching and all too.
The production outshone the child's performance.

I mixed it again... Based on my ears, The snare was a little harsh so I EQed it. And played w/the BGV (boosted) a bit, some other little changes, mashed up the bottom end a bit more? The bottom end of this song could use a proctologist...  It's messed up... It's interesting how you can listen critically to your own ****....

Thanks Timaaaaaayyyy! :-)

People should listen to my mad skills on that fretless :-) (I'm a bass player?) And all of the synth details. ;-) And the vocoder for the monster voice on the "Radioactive" part :-) Little details... Also, "that kick?" It's actually not easy to get it to do that...

I think it's dialed in pretty good now :-) But I'm always open to critique/opinion? I'm still not good at the whole mixing/mastering aspect.

But we do this for the love of the art... It is my passion. I don't make any money from it, but it is what consumes me. I figure I have a few more good years singing, and maybe a few more playing. After that? I may be looking to go quietly in to that good night...

Just by you showing him what can be done with music and doing a song he likes, that's something he'll never forget!! Music is in his blood, even if he doesn't know it yet! Radioactive will forever bring up a memory of you and him doing this song!

Ohh oh oh :-) My intent...

You Can't know your affect? You can plan it? You can engineer it... But you  cannot know the end result.

Robby,

You know there are child labor laws?

Yes, it was actually a bit of a struggle to get him off of the couch and in to the studio. And then it was how much longer is this going to take? (comping and coaching) At which point I reminded him that his father had been working on it for 3 weeks for several hours a day and I was only asking that he sing his part in "his song" at which point he acquiesced :-) But once he heard it completed, then he was stoked.

I bought tickets for a show in Feb, they (Imagine Dragons) are coming to a big arena downtown. He's never been to a big show like that so it will be exciting (good seats :-) That is how bands make their money, touring and selling places out, big bucks.

The first concert I ever took my son to was on his 15th birthday. Joe Satriani, which was his favorite. That was almost 24 years ago.
